ABOUT ME

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Sam, and I’m a person-centred therapist working online with adults across the UK.

At the core of my approach is the belief that therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely heard and accepted without judgement and without pressure. My aim is to create a warm, compassionate, and collaborative environment where you can explore what’s going on for you and find greater clarity, confidence, and ease in your life.

As well as working privately with clients, I also work for Music Support, a mental health charity supporting musicians and music industry professionals. Before training as a therapist, I spent over ten years in supportive roles within the charity sector. That experience gave me a strong foundation in working with people facing a wide range of challenges: from mental health difficulties and relationship issues to low self-esteem and confidence struggles. It also shaped how I show up in the therapy room: with empathy, patience, and deep respect for your unique experience.

I offer a down-to-earth, collaborative approach. I won’t give advice or tell you how to live your life. Instead, I’ll work alongside you to explore what’s happening, help you make sense of your thoughts and emotions, and support you in finding your own way forward.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply need space to think things through, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

MY EXPERIENCE

Alongside my private practice, I have extensive experience working within the fields of neurodiversity, autism, and disability support.

Over several years, I worked at a specialist Autism College in roles ranging from Support Worker to Behavioural Practitioner, supporting autistic young adults with varying support needs. This experience gave me a deep understanding of neurodiversity, communication differences, sensory needs, and how to create safe, person-centred spaces that promote growth and self-understanding. I then worked for National Disabilities Charity Sense. Working on an online buddying programme supporting individuals with complex disabilities and sensory impairments, offering emotional support, connection, and companionship.

In total I have over a decade of experience in various supportive and community-based roles, helping individuals navigate issues around confidence, identity, and relationships.

These experiences have all reinforced my belief in the power of empathy, acceptance, and genuine human connection in fostering emotional wellbeing.

MY APPROACH

I am a person-centred therapist, meaning I place you, your experiences, values, and voice at the heart of the work. I believe that when we feel truly heard and accepted, meaningful change becomes possible.

My approach is down-to-earth, collaborative, and adaptable. While my foundation is person-centred, I also draw upon insights from other therapeutic perspectives where appropriate, ensuring that sessions meet your individual needs and goals.

I offer therapy in a way that is flexible, respectful, and grounded in authenticity: always focused on supporting you to understand yourself better and make choices that feel right for you.
