ABOUT ME
I am a compassionate, experienced counsellor supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. My approach is trauma-informed, recognising how past experiences can shape how we think feel, relate to others and navigate daily life.
Trauma can arise from many experiences, including childhood adversity, abuse, neglect, bullying, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, workplace stress, loss, or major life events. I offer a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space to explore these experiences at your own pace, with a focus on safety, empowerment, and resilience.
Alongside trauma work, I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, family conflict, bullying, workplace challenges, stress, burnout, and life transitions. Whether you are struggling with the effects of past experiences, navigating difficult relationships, coping with workplace pressures, or seeking a better understanding of yourself, I will work collaboratively with you to help you identify your strengths and move towards meaningful change.
My therapeutic approach is tailored to your individual needs, recognising that every person’s experiences and healing journey are unique. I am committed to creating an environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported as we work together towards greater wellbeing and emotional growth
Counselling offers a safe, supportive space to explore the experiences that have shaped your life and sense of self. I work in a trauma-informed way, recognising the lasting impact difficult experiences can have on how we think, feel, behave, and relate to others.
Together, we can explore challenges such as trauma, loss, difficult relationships, bullying, workplace stress, abuse, life transitions, or other significant experiences, and consider how they may still affect your emotions, relationships, and daily life.
Coping strategies that once helped us survive can sometimes stop serving us and become detrimental to our wellbeing and capacity to enjoy life. Counselling can help you make sense of these patterns, build self-awareness, and create lasting change.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you build self-compassion, resilience, and confidence.
MY EXPERIENCE
I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I have experience supporting people with trauma, bereavement, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, anxiety, relationship difficulties, bullying, workplace issues, and life transitions.
My background includes supporting people bereaved by suicide, working with survivors of domestic abuse, volunteering with Childline, and mentoring people experiencing long-term unemployment. I now work in private practice with clients facing varied issues and life experiences.
I have a particular interest in trauma, including childhood and relational trauma, domestic abuse, bullying, workplace bullying, and experiences affecting self-esteem, trust, emotional wellbeing, and relationships. I also support clients with difficulties in personal, family, and workplace relationships.
MY APPROACH
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor, working collaboratively with you through a relationship built on trust, empathy, and acceptance. I support you in finding a path that reflects your values, goals, and needs.
My trauma-informed approach emphasises safety, empowerment, choice, and collaboration. I view emotional difficulties not as weakness, but as understandable responses to challenging experiences.
I also draw on neuroscience to help you understand the connection between mind, brain, and body. Understanding the nervous system’s response to stress and trauma can explain why we may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or out of control.
By combining person-centred counselling with trauma-informed and neuroscience-based understanding, I help you make sense of your experiences, strengthen self-awareness, and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
I look forward to supporting you towards healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.
