ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Jor’dân
I am passionate about supporting people. The desire to help people has allowed me to fulfil a career in psychotherapy, by learning the fundamentals of human functioning and why we are the way we are.
I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will facilitate you on your journey of self-discovery and help you to gain valuable insight into your past experiences and support you in processing them in order to help you move forward and have hope for the future.
MY EXPERIENCE
I have a BSc in Applied Sports Science from Loughborough University and a MSc in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP Accredited) from the University of Derby.
I have worked across many mental health services face-to-face, over the phone and online/video such as:
– a Sexual Abuse & Rape Centre (SARAC) and supported and provided therapy to survivors who needed support for historical or recent sexual trauma
– The Psychotherapy Rooms, where I offered counselling sessions to 111 NHS staff
– First Steps Eating Disorder Services. Supported and offered counselling sessions to individuals dealing with diagnosed and undiagnosed eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, Restrictive eating, Binge eating disorders or disordered eating, poor relationships with food, poor body image
– Senior Wellbeing Practitioner at a University wellbeing department. Worked with students from diverse backgrounds and supported students with mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm, personality disorders, trauma, exam stress, drugs and alcohol addiction, low self esteem and confidence.
-Cruse Bereavement & Loss. Supported individuals who were bereaved and going through grief and complicated grief
-Supported individuals and adolescents (16+) with ADHD, Autism, Asperger & Sensory Processing Disorder
