ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Lisa and I am a qualified and experienced Person-Centred Experiential Therapist. I offer a safe space for you to guide me through your world while I support you to gain clarity around life choices and strengthen your self-esteem and self-reliance in making your desired changes. As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I observe their Ethical Framework and best practice guidelines within my practice. I am fully insured.

Alongside my private practice, I have an extensive and professional background working in prisons with prisoners suffering from addictions and traumas. I provided individual sessions and therapeutic group work based on humanistic and solution-focused approaches. Working alongside these clients has given me valuable experience and insight into mental health issues relating to addiction, confinement, and traumas.

MY EXPERIENCE

My motivation for becoming a counsellor took root while working in prisons and witnessing firsthand the transformative power of therapy. During 1:1 sessions and group therapies, I saw individuals rebuild trust within themselves and others, gain clarity and develop a stronger sense of self-esteem. These experiences resonated deeply with me and fuelled my passion for helping individuals navigate through addiction, trauma, grief, stress, anxiety, and depression.

Development of Skills

I strengthened my counselling skills in challenging environments, learning to hold safe spaces for clients during individual and group sessions. This experience taught me the importance of resilience and empathy in providing effective support to those in need.

MY APPROACH

I am interested to hear about your history, the beliefs and values you hold, your hopes; and anything you feel would be beneficial for me to help you through. I offer online counselling sessions that incorporate creative and expressive elements has allowed me to enrich the therapeutic experience for those I work with.

As a practicing counsellor, I remain committed to my own well-being and ongoing professional development. As a registered member of MBACP, I prioritize continuing education and self-care to ensure that I can provide the highest level of care to my clients
